WiN Colombia is an organization that aims to disseminate the radioactive and nuclear applications used in Colombia and empower young girls and women who are part of this sector.
One of the most important achievements that this chapter has made since its creation is generation of a mentoring program, through which women who have experience in the nuclear sector in Colombia, share their experiences and support young women who are interested or are starting their career in the world of radioactive applications.
Karen Ibarra Gutiérrez – Ministry of Mines and Energy of Colombia
Karen is one of the founders of WiN Colombia. She is a chemist with experience in nuclear technologies applied to the safe management of radioactive materials, environmental protection, and climate change. She works at the Colombian Nuclear Regulator Authority and serves as Deputy National Liaison Officer to the IAEA, supporting regulatory oversight and technical cooperation.
